Truckbud Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 16, 2026

About This Policy

Trualr Technologies Inc. carrying on business as Truckbud ("Truckbud," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from customers who book deliveries, retail business partners, and visitors to our website; why we collect it; how we use and share it; and what rights you have.

We operate in Canada and handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. Your consent to our data practices is obtained when you submit a booking or create an account on the Platform, at which point you are presented with a link to this Privacy Policy and are asked to confirm your agreement. Your continued use of the Platform reaffirms that consent.

Who This Policy Covers

This policy applies to three categories of people:

  • Customers — individuals who use the Truckbud platform to book large item delivery services.
  • Retail Partners — businesses and their representatives who partner with Truckbud to offer delivery to their customers.
  • Visitors — anyone who visits our website or interacts with our marketing materials without completing a booking or application.

Where a section applies specifically to one category, we say so clearly. Otherwise, every section applies to all users covered by this policy.

  • Contact information. Your first and last name, email address, and phone number.
  • Address information. Pickup and drop-off address you enter when booking.
  • Payment information. Payment method details processed through our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers; this data is handled by our third-party payment processor.
  • Booking details. The items selected, add-on services, access notes, and any other information you provide during the booking flow.

Information we collect automatically

When you use the Platform or website we automatically collect:

  • Device information. Including device type, operating system, and browser type.
  • Usage data. Including pages visited, features used, time spent, and actions taken on the Platform.
  • Location data. Approximate location when you use the Platform, used only to support your booking.
  • Log data. IP address, access times, and error logs.

Information from third parties

We may receive personal information from:

  • Payment processors. Transaction confirmation and fraud screening data.
  • Publicly available sources. To verify information you have provided.

Information collected from Retail Partner contacts

When a business registers as a Truckbud retail partner, we collect business contact information from the individual representing the business, including their name, role, business email, and phone number. We treat this information as business contact data and use it solely to manage the partnership relationship.

Why We Collect Personal Information and How We Use It

We collect and use personal information only for the purposes described below. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

To process your booking

We use your information to receive and confirm your booking, match you with an available driver, communicate your delivery details, and send you real-time SMS updates throughout the delivery.

To process payments

We use your payment information to process the delivery charge when your driver arrives at the pickup address. Payment data is processed through our third-party payment processor and is not stored on our servers beyond what is needed to complete the transaction.

To communicate with you

We use your contact information to send transactional messages, booking confirmation, delivery status updates, and support communications. With your consent, we may send promotional communications about Truckbud offers and new features. You may opt out of promotional communications at any time. Promotional communications are sent only with your express consent and in compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every promotional message includes an unsubscribe mechanism, and we will process your opt-out request within 10 business days.

To improve the Platform

We use aggregated and anonymized usage data to understand how the Platform is used, identify and fix technical issues, and improve features and services.

To ensure safety and trust

We use information about booking activity and delivery feedback to monitor platform quality, investigate complaints, and take action where conduct violates our terms or presents a risk to customers or drivers.

To manage retail partnerships

For retail partners, we use business contact information to manage the partnership relationship, coordinate delivery logistics, and provide billing and support services.

To comply with legal obligations

We may use and retain your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, respond to lawful requests from government authorities, enforce our terms, and protect our legal rights.

Who We Share Personal Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below.

  • With your assigned driver. When a driver is matched to your booking, we share the minimum information necessary to complete your delivery: your pickup and drop-off addresses, access notes you have provided, and a contact method. We do not share your full name or payment details with drivers.
  • With retail partners (for retail partner-initiated deliveries). When a retail partner initiates a delivery on your behalf, that retail partner has provided us with your delivery details for the purpose of completing your delivery.
  • With service providers. We share personal information with trusted third-party providers including payment processors, cloud hosting providers, SMS and communications providers, and analytics providers. These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for Truckbud.
  • For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose personal information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, respond to a lawful request from a government authority, or protect the rights or safety of Truckbud, our users, or the public.
  • In connection with a business transaction. If Truckbud is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify affected users of any such transfer.

Retail Partner Data

We use the contact details of retail partner representatives to manage the partnership, communicate about operational matters, and provide billing and support services. We do not use business contact information for marketing to those individuals without their consent.

When a retail partner provides us with customer data to initiate a delivery, we use that data solely to complete the delivery and comply with our legal obligations. We do not use customer data provided by a retail partner for our own marketing purposes without that customer's direct consent.

Retail partners are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authority to share customer information with Truckbud for the purpose of completing deliveries.

You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features. We do not currently serve advertising through our website and do not share website visitor data with advertising networks.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy and to comply with our legal obligations:

  • Customer booking and account information is retained for up to seven years after the booking or account closure.
  • Delivery records are retained for seven years for accounting and tax purposes.
  • Communications and support records are retained for three years.
  • Retail partner contact information is retained for the duration of the partnership and for up to three years after the partnership ends.

  • Access. Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction. Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

In the event of a breach that poses a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you within 72 hours of confirming the breach, in accordance with PIPEDA's breach of security safeguards notification requirements.
